Advance package pickup for each summer series event is at:

The Running Centre, 1273 Hay Street, West Perth, the Thursday immediately before the event from 4.30 PM - 5.45 PM

Mainpeak Outdoor store (not the paddle shop or the snow shop), 35 Jarrad Street, Cottesloe, the Saturday immediately before the event from 10.00 AM - 11.00 AM

Schedule for January and February events (23rd March event is 30 mins later due to failing morning light):

6.00-6.50 am Arrival (late package/bib pickup from 6.00-6.40 ONLY)

6.50 am Race Briefing

7.05 am Wave Start 1 (long course)

Directions to event:

From Perth, travel out to the Great Northern Highway, turning east onto Walyunga Road, where it is signed for the National Park. Pass the Entry Gate and continue to one of the two car parks.

Cost: Early bird rate for either event is $50 + $5 parking fee, payable when you register online. Late entry fees come into effect 2 weeks before event day.

Mandatory Gear: You must carry a hydration system that will hold a minimum of 500ml for the duration of the event. This could be a handheld, a pack, or a waist belt. Caught without your hydration system on course or coming through the finish line will result in disqualification. You must also wear your race bib with timing chip at all times during the event.

ONLINE ENTRY (opens 9 December for individual events)

Wallygrunta Long course: 13.6 kms +/- 420 mtrs

Wallygrunta Short course: 9.4 kms +/- 243 mtrs

 
   

Course description: Where's Waldo? He's out there, looking for the shady sections. So keep a lookout (for him and the shade!)

The second race of the series gets you started on the serious hills. These tracks are mostly quite wide, which will allow competitors easy passing opportunities and gorgeous views from the hilltops, particularly on the highest sections (the long course naturally gives you more climbs, so more viewing opportunities). An abundance of kangaroos in this park may provide some happy distraction from your bursting lungs. Both the short and long course follow the same course for the initial few kilometres, which gives you a slight uphill warmup before the big climbs begin. The long course will enjoy a great view down to the river and some riverside running, as well.

Courses will be well flagged - and marshalled at a few key intersections. We will do our best to keep you on course, but it is your responsibility to keep aware of the flagging.

Aid Stations:

Short course: Two. The first is at approximately 4 km's, providing water. The second is at approximately 8 km's, providing water and carbohydrates in the form of Hammer Heed and organic fruit.

Long course: Two. The first is at approximately 4 km's, providing water. The second is at approximately 11 km's, providing water and carbohydrates in the form of Hammer Heed and organic fruit.

Note that disposable cups will NOT be provided at our events in 2014 - all racers will be provided with their very own reusable silicone collapsable cup at their first event of the year. Bottled water will continue to be provided at the finish line.
